Welcome
Integrated Community Based Initiatives (ICOBI) is an indigenous non-governmental, non-profit making, non-denominational, charitable organization with its head offices in Kampala and regional head offices in Bushenyi. ICOBI was founded in 1994 by Dr. Elioda Tumwesigye in collaboration with his colleagues who were motivated to serve the rural people at a time when NGOs were not interested in working in “apparently well off” districts. ICOBI has since 1994 been implementing various programs in the health and community development fields. Read More...

Message from the Executive Director
“It takes a whole village to raise a child. We cannot live for ourselves alone. Our lives are connected by a thousand invisible threads, and along these sympathetic fibers, our actions run as causes and return to us as results”. This was my major motivation along with a group of six other dedicated servants of God with whom we started Integrated Community Based Initiatives (ICOBI) ICOBI in 1994. We felt it was an obligation to help improve the quality of life of the whole village that helped raise and educate us. This was the reason why ICOBI started its operations in Bushenyi district.
ICOBI is greatly indebted to all our donors for the continued support, understanding and partnership in program implementation. This has enabled us to serve our people better and hopes of tens of thousands have been restored. Finally, no just cause has ever succeeded except with many setbacks and great difficulty. Over the past 12 years, ICOBI has gone through a lot but we have remained steadfast.
